Malawi’s Lands and Urban Development Minister, Chimwemwe Chipungu, noted at the Second Africa Urban Forum that rapid urbanization in Malawi— with 20% of the population in cities and about 70% living in informal settlements—highlights the urgent need for sustainable housing and urban reforms under Vision 2063, while ensuring African priorities are reflected in the New Urban Agenda.

In March, the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) convened over 20 women diplomats in New York for the Women in Cyber Fellowship, which supports women’s leadership and participation in global cyber negotiations. H.E. Agnes Mary Chimbiri-Molande, was among the participants.
